Bus Route From Immigrant Ghetto Has Become a Complete Nightmare – A Picture of the Danish Society’s Problems

This article comes from Den Korte Avis (The Compact Newspaper – a Danish online newspaper). It has been translated and published with permission. Original text below the fold.

Children and youths with immigrant backgrounds have made the bus route 4A famous. It goes from Brabrand, an area of western Aarhus with many immigrants.

The route has for many years seen problems with anti-social passengers from that area. But it has gotten worse. This is according to an online article from TV2 East Jutland.

It is a father of two children who has had enough. He has decided to speak out and tell of his experiences with the anti-social immigrants on route 4A. Children and youths all the way down to 12-14 years old.

They play loud music, yell and scream, make noise and fight, says the man, Ofer Attias.

“I was there with my children of eight and 12 years old who began to cry and I was scared so that I would rather leave”, he said.

But what takes place on the bus route is even worse: “They begin to spit on the seats and the windows, and they smoke cigarettes in the bus, throw garbage everywhere, and yesterday, an old lady was forced to move to another seat”, he said.

And the bus driver was powerless.

The bus driver stopped the bus in the middle of the road and asked them to stop, but they didn’t care, they threatened him and laughed at him.

TV2 has also spoken with the bus company, Busselskabet Aarhus Sporveje, which confirms that things are bad.

“There has been unrest in that area in recent months and trouble with groups of youth”, said a representative from the bus company, Bjarne Larsen to TV2 East Jutland.

“It varies, how much the drivers can handle. Some ask people to leave the bus, but others speak to them over the speakers, and others assume that it will all pass. It depends on how much the drivers feel they can handle”, said the representative.

Spit on the driver – but he keeps his nerve

Earlier this year, TV2 East Jutland reported on bus driver Hans Holsten, who has been spit on as well as beaten and yelled at so many times that he has lost count.

Spit on in the face by two passengers, in which the one holds me in a choke-hold while the other beats me, I’ve had rocks thrown at me, verbal attacks. I’ve experienced everything”, he said in January to TV2 East Jutland.

Bus driver Hans Horsten has been in a choke-hold, beaten, had stones thrown at him, and verbal attacks. But he says he likes his job and that he feels almost completely safe.

It seems to be a paradox, but it is a common human reaction.

There is a fighting spirit in this reaction. Horsten refuses to let the anti-social young immigrants ruin his work.

On the other hand, Horsten’s attitude can also be seen as a survival strategy. He has adapted to a situation that he personally cannot change.

A survival strategy like this is what many Danes use in relation to the problems that our society encounters in the wake of the enormous immigration from non-Western countries.

Danish values under pressure

One can see that the culture and the values that form the foundation of the Danish society are being strained by the enormous immigration.

The creation of parallel societies. Islamization. An increase in violent crime. Increased oppression of women. Stronger anti-democratic opinions. Large public outlays that could be used for the welfare of Danes instead. Increasing problems with poorly educated citizens.

Many Danes know that these are problems that plague our society, but they don’t want everything to be about problems. Like bus driver Hans Horsten.

That’s just the way it is. That’s the way it will be. We all have a great need to just live our lives. No one wants to go around tense and angry most of the day.

But it is important that the need for positive experiences doesn’t end up in naivete.

The non-Western immigration clearly brings big problems to our society. For societal cohesion. For openness and trust between people. For the economy.

So while we hopefully can enjoy life, we need to understand that we face a gigantic challenge: an increasing portion of the population has a non-Western, mostly Muslim background.

In spite of the policies that have increased restrictions on immigration, this development continues. The non-Western portion of the population of Denmark will continue to grow rapidly in the coming decades. This is because of the higher birth rates.

If something is to be done with that, immigration must be even more stringently controlled. And we must ensure that refugees are sent home who no longer need our protection.

We can, of course, just not do anything. As is suggested by the parties in the “red bloc” [mostly parties of the left].

But in that case, we will have a completely different Denmark. A Denmark where everyone, everyday, will, in fact, need a survival strategy.

Danske værdier under pres

Opsplitning i parallelsamfund. Islamisering. Øget voldskriminalitet. Mere kvindeundertrykkelse.

For sammenhængskraften. For åbenheden og tilliden mellem mennesker. For økonomien.
