The Denmark You Know – 4

It’s been a while, but recently Danmark has decided that “OK, well, maybe things have gotten bad enough that we need to have soldiers from the Danish Army patrol the streets and watch the borders”. Like in France where half the French army was deployed in 2016 (oh, they’re still there).

Anyway, from Snaphanen via Uriasposten, pictures of a couple of those soldiers posted around a Copenhagen synagogue with the following text. Original text below the fold.

There’s something un-Danish about the scene and it is just wrong to be eating three Danish open-faced sandwiches with a beer while watching fully armed soldiers. We are in Krystalgade, Copenhagen, in the House of War (Dar ul-Harb).

The enemy is in the country.

Said to me by one of the officers previously on watch, while we spoke at the Synagogue just after the attack at The Powerkeg (Krudttønden) bar. No one would be able to disagree at that point in time. At the Halfway Cafe (Café Halvvejen) the guests are unaffected, nothing can disturb their sandwiches and beers. Most people think that they’ll be able to handle that and worse, but they don’t really know what the politicians have done without even asking.

I think one can promise aggressors, that there is more security around the Synagogue than meets the eye. It is, of course, top secret; the message is that “You are fucked if you try anything”, but that describes Muslim terrorists anyway. They go around with one leg already in the psych ward, a fact that the more propaganda-prone part of the media is not slow to use. Except in the case of Breivik who had obvious schizo tendencies; he was not allowed, for political reasons, to be the psych ward candidate he is.

It is, of course, wonderful that the soldiers are there, seeing as how things could not be different. Should they not have been there? Should we all have the writing on the wall 20 years ago? That’s not really for us to decide. Those that are uncomfortable need to reconsider. When will the soldiers leave? When will the 50,000 soldiers leave from the French streets? Yes, they’ll still be there when you and I are 90.
