34 Years of Evasions

A post at Uriasposten has a letter-to-the-editor from one of the leading Danish dailies about the previous 34 years of evasive excuses about immigration. The original is below the fold.

When a majority of the Danish Parliament opened Denmark for immigration in 1983, there would only come “a very small number”. When the numbers of immigrants grew considerably, it was that the massive immigration was “only temporary”. When immigration continued to grow, “the numbers don’t mean anything”. Besides, immigration is “an enrichment that we are not able live without” because of the low birthrates of Danes.

When it was not possible to hide that immigrants, on average, were un(der)educated, un(der)employable, and overly-criminal, it was “because Danes are so bad at integrating” foreigners. When the expensive integration projects failed, we should just give the integration process “time to work”. When immigrants, after many years of residence continued to be un(der)integrated, the “second generation would be much better”.

When the second generation of immigrants proved to be unsuccessful in school, it was because the Danish society “did not offer sufficient bi-lingual education”. When the boys of immigrants showed themselves to be just as criminal and un(der)employable as their fathers, “the immigrant girls were, in contrast, a ray of sunshine”. When only a small percentage of immigrants girls actually finished their educations and got jobs, this was not reported.

The third generation is not doing much better than the first or second, but is defined as Danish to be inclusive. And as such, the circle of 34 years of evasions and excuses is closed and the immigration lobby can claim with satisfaction that the majority of the population has not caught on to the swindle. And the dark side of immigration is now so great that it cannot be hidden anymore. The time has come to recognize those critics of immigration as being the boy who said what all could see in the “Emperor’s New Clothes” instead of being called perverse in their view of their fellow humans, indecent, xenophobic and racist.
