Efficiency and Legislative Magic

A fine rant titled, If schadenfreude had calories, I’d weigh 300 pounds, includes this gem of an observation:

Then again, these are people who think that the efficiency of internal combustion engines or the amount of water it takes to carry off a turd are governed by legislative magic and not the laws of physics.

As the “these are people” group also include The Won, I think the adjective “legislative” is unnecessarily limiting. Based on his Friday pronouncement, it is clear that these are people who think even arithmetic is subject to government fiat, administrative or legislative.
